Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cocoa Beach, an IHG Hotel

Hotel was undergoing major renovation in November, entire first floor. Lot of construction dust. They were managing it well. Room on second floor was acceptable and clean. Major issue was the shuttle to the cruise port. When I made the reservation, I was not told about the fee. Nor when I actually took the shuttle the next morning. The fee was somewhat reasonable, but they should have told me in advance. Walking distance to Avis as well as restaurant next door.

Aside from the front end staff, this has to be the worst stay we've ever had. We were aware of the construction, but good grief, did our room need remodeled. The bathtub was so narrow that when you stood in it, both feet were on the tub walls, at an angle. The tub cracks were painted over and the drain was falling apart. One sign said the pool was open until 11, then another said until dusk. They had us vacate the pool at 8. Almost all the lights by the pool were burnt out. They had construction material by the pool, with what appeared to be a washer and dryer being installed and not cordened off, even with it's exposed wires. For the price we paid, we were severely disappointed. Again, the front desk staff were outstanding, but that was it.

This is probably one of the worst Holiday Inn's I've stayed. We were put here to attend a timeshare presentation, but instantly we were turned off to even consider buying when seeing the condition of this property. Even though this is not the club resort where you would stay if you bought a package, they should have put us up in better accommodations as it shows how low their pride is in their building and company. Everything is very outdated. Our room on 3rd floor had absolutely no view but the roof of the front awning. Window was falling apart and had stains all over. Furniture was beat up and dirty. Shower was old, dirty and needed new seals. We never had warm water in shower or in bathroom sink on our 4 days. They were remodeling the lobby when we were there, so it was a mess and loud. Hopefully they do the halls and rooms next. It is about 3 blocks walk to the beach, which isn't bad, but the Days Inn and Best Western looked to be nicer and they were right on the beach. Because of the remodel, breakfast was literally set up in a hallway and the options were quite limited. No where to sit and eat breakfast, so had to carry back to room. Don't even know if there was a workout room, as everything was a mess. Of course no one mentioned the hotel was under renovations when it was booked for us to come attend a presentation. They should of never put us at a place that was lacking in every aspect of they wanted us to consider buying. The only thing I can say that was somewhat good was the staff at the front desk was friendly.
